A CTV publisher doubled pod fill with SSAI and OpenRTB direct demand
Example scenario. This page shows how we approach this kind of publisher and the results we aim for. It is not a report on a named customer.
The challenge
A FAST channel operator monetized broadcast-quality streams through a single reseller path. Ad pods were stitched manually, fill hovered near 40%, and client-side insertion was being blocked on connected-TV devices.
What we did
- Moved ad insertion server-side (SSAI): ad breaks that can't be blocked and don't buffer, on every CTV device.
- Opened OpenRTB direct connections to CTV-focused DSPs, replacing the single reseller path with bid-level competition.
- Activated AI pod optimization: slot sequencing, per-position pricing and competitive separation per break.
- Packaged genre-based PMPs with completion-rate guarantees for premium video buyers.
How this was measured
On a live engagement we measure results against a randomized holdout: a small share of traffic keeps the old setup while the rest runs the new one, and the uplift is the difference between the two groups over the period. Comparing against a control group, not against last month, keeps seasonality and traffic changes out of the number.
